UA SAL Awards Recognize Resilience in Community Leadership

University of North Georgia announces President's Lists for spring 2018
University of North Georgia (UNG) President Bonita C. Jacobs recognized more than 1,300 students who achieved a 4.0 GPA during the spring 2018 semester. Students enrolled in 12 or more credit hours in bachelor's degree programs who achieved a 4.0 grade point average were named to the President's Honor Roll. Students enrolled in associate degree programs who met the same level of achievement were named to the President's List.

The deans of each of UNG's five colleges - the College of Arts & Letters, the College of Education, the College of Health Sciences & Professions, the Mike Cottrell College of Business, and the College of Science & Mathematics - announced the names of those students who made their respective lists for spring 2018. Georgia Southern selects Student Media 2018-2019 staff
Seven Georgia Southern students have been selected to lead the University's student media operations in the 2018-2019 school year. Matthew Enfinger will be editor-in-chief of The George-Anne, Statesboro edition. He will direct news coverage for the weekly student newspaper and its website, www.thegeorgeanne.com. He is a rising senior from Hephzibah, Georgia, majoring in writing and linguistics. Dan Hayes will be editor-in-chief of The George-Anne, Inkwell edition. He will oversee the weekly newspaper serving the Armstrong and Liberty campuses and its website, www.theinkwellonline.com. He is a senior from Savannah, Georgia, majoring in English/professional communications. Rebecca Hooper will serve as creative editor-in-chief, in charge of design and photography for The George-Anne and all other printed products on the Statesboro Campus. She is a rising junior from Pooler, Georgia, majoring in marketing. Kenyatta Brown will serve for the second consecutive year as business manager, in charge of advertising and sponsorship sales for the Statesboro Campus. She is a senior from Augusta, Georgia, majoring in middle grades education. Haley Clark will serve for the third consecutive year as public relations and marketing manager, in charge of reader services, events and staff recruiting on the Statesboro Campus. She is a senior from Bloomingdale, Georgia, majoring in marketing. Blakeley Bartee will be editor-in-chief of Reflector magazine, the Our House guide for new students and a website, www.gsureflector.com. She is a rising senior from Columbus, Georgia, majoring in writing and linguistics. Brandon Wright will be editor-in-chief of The Circle, an online news service emphasizing video on multiple platforms, including www.thecirclegsu.com. He is a rising senior from Macon, Georgia, majoring in multimedia film and production.

BFSDoArt announces 'Form & Content' winners
The Georgia Southern University Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art (BFSDoArt) is presenting its annual Form & Content Exhibition at the Center for Art & Theatre's University Gallery on the Statesboro Campus March 30 - April 6. "Form & Content" features Art Foundations-level student work from classes Drawing I, 2D Design, 3D Design and Digital Foundations. The exhibition was juried by Michael Marks, an associate professor at the South Carolina School of the Arts at Anderson University. Winners were announced at a reception on March 30. Madison Pleasant was awarded First Place. Second Place was awarded to Brandon Narsing and Olivia Mainor received Third Place. Tanner Maxey received the Juror's Choice award. Morgan Carr and Peyton Butts each received Honorable Mentions. BFSDoArt celebrates scholarship and award recipients
Donors, faculty, staff, students and friends of the Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art (BFSDoArt) gathered Friday, March 30, to honor the Statesboro Campus undergraduate and graduate scholarship and award recipients for the 2018-19 academic year. During a ceremony at the Georgia Southern University Center for Art & Theatre in Statesboro, these students were recognized for their outstanding achievements, hard work and dedication. The students will have the opportunity to share their work in the department's annual Ovation exhibition in the fall. Undergraduates showcase research at 2018 National Conference on Undergraduate Research
Kennesaw State University is being represented by nearly 100 students this week at the 2018 National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) in Edmond, Oklahoma. More than 4,000 students from 400 colleges and universities are presenting their research April 4-7 at the prestigious annual conference. With 93 students attending, Kennesaw State's number of participants is second only to the host institution, the University of Central Oklahoma.
